For memory bloat, it has always been about the amount of media and the amount of edits in a project. Try rendering the timeline in sections and see what part fails. It works fine in the project that had the error message now. Since I had been working from a file that had been converted from its camera codec into ProRes through MPEG Streamclip, I made that clip go offline in Final Cut Pro
If it is easier to explain by phone, please call me at 970-728-6639. Time urgent! Another problem that could be causing the “General Error” with Final Cut might have to do with a bad stick of RAM.
